Hoss is a 9 yr old Pug that came into Second Chance K-9 Rescue when his owners decided they couldn't keep him any more. The odds of finding a home for a 9 yr. old dog usually aren't very good. But through the commitment of some of the folks involved with Second Chance this story has a very good ending. Angela Ryan, who runs our sister rescue organization Tennessee Valley All Breed Rescue was able to post photos of Hoss on the internet and find a couple in Minnesota that were very interested in Hoss. The problem was, how do we get him from Tennessee to Minnesota ( a distance of 1000 miles)? Angela was able to coordinate through the Canine Underground Railroad enough people between here and Minnesota that were willing to drive 100-150 miles on a weekend to get him to his new home. |

The photos below document his journey to Minnesota, the first photo ( top center ) is of Jean (one of our wonderful foster Moms) and Hoss. Jean kept Hoss while he recuperated from his neuter surgery and some other medical problems that he had. The next photo (top left) is of Dale, Regina and Danielle (Second Chance K-9 Rescue members) who took Hoss from Kingston, Tn. to London, Ky. The rest of the photos are of the other wonderful people that gave up time on their weekend to drive the different legs of the journey. The last 3 photos on the bottom row are of Hoss's new Mom, Dad and his new brother. |
